Hams In The Park (September)

September Hams in the Park. An unorganized organized (!) event that is held on the second Saturday of the month from April through October from 12 – 3 or so. ( some get there earlier to grab a choice spot in the parking lot).

A get together of mostly Amateur Radio operators, with many of us having GMRS licenses as well; setting up and operating from the parking lot and just getting together to talk all things radio. More often than not some of the local EmComm folks are there with emergency radio equipment and very often Dan McNulty will be there with his most excellent Education/Info table setup. We often find ourselves engaging with the public to explain what we’re doing and why. A great way for prospective and new amateurs to see radio being done in a portable or mobile setting, as well as to look into other facets of the radio hobby.
