Hi all,

Excited to be a part of this new group, I think it’d be awesome if we could make our FM frequency in the be 147.500. A lot of hands over the years have used this in the local south Metro.

Just wanted to get your thoughts really open to your opinions.

I used to talk to Pete Z(SK) from Apple Valley on this frequency. We lost a good man...

@rescue280 yeah Pete was great!! I spoke with him quite a few times and met Up and traded gear, he was quite a smart person.

So, Simplex is just like a walkie talkie? correct?  so depending on power, or tower height, we may not hear everyone....  so can GMRS use this frequency on simplex?

basically, it is just like a walkie-talkie. yeah it wouldn’t be going through a repeater. However, you can’t use GMRS on it because that’s not a part of the GMRS radio bands.

GMRS channels of frequencies are around 462 and 467 MHz. since this amateur radio band is 147.5 MHz it’s not even in the same range.
