I'm a technology nerd and have always been enthralled with computers throughout my life. Thanks to old friends of mine, I had dove into the world of computers and eventually got a degree in Information and Networking Technology. Over the years I'd continue to grow in the field, eventually becoming a radio show host, voice actor, and a convention director. Later, I'd spread my horizons into GMRS, CB, Meshtastic, and Ham radio, studied for all thee license classes, and got my Amateur Extra.
Since then, I've also assisted with SkyWarn, learning about the weather, another thing I've been fascinated with. Since I live on the ground floor of an apartment, radio is impractical due to odd propagation and a large noise floor. So, I went completely mobile.
My 2017 Ford Fusion has been converted into a mobile shack, as well as a SkyWarn vehicle. Look for "Skywarn KF0QNM" on a black Ford Fusion in Minnesota, and that's me.
I absolutely love the hobby and want to keep learning more. Eventually I hope to get out of an apartment situation and into home ownership, but haven't been lucky, yet. Until then, I'm more than happy with my mobile whacker.
Cheers and 73,
KF0QNM/WSCL244
PS: I monitor the North Minneapolis/Fridley 725 on GMRS most often, and I'll listen to MARA, SARA, MinWis, Anoka, St. Louis Park, Minnetonka, and TCRC on ham radio.
I have a Yaesu FT-891, FTM-510DR ASP, a Wouxun KG1000G+, Muziworks H2T, and a President George CB radio in my car. If y'all wanna see pics, let me know.
